Built On Amazing Grace

I am just now realizing (now as a wife and parent) all the HARD WORK and PRAYERS my parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles have put in throughout the years to hold our family together! We have a pretty big family and I am proud to say that my inheritance has been built on AMAZING GRACE! Through my family's faith, I was lead to the Lord and can believe in the power of His mighty hand. Not because they have preached it, but because I have SEEN the power of God working in and through them. That all being said, I feel the deep need to pass this inheritance on to Lily as well as my nieces, nephews, and one day grandchildren. I pray that they will continue to have a home of peace and hope. This song has been on my heart today. Feel free to go ahead and laugh at the picture of the band, I think this song was written back in the 80's and they really were looking stylish (I really couldn't believe I found it on you tube). I remember listening to 4Him growing up. The words to all of their songs have touched my heart in some way. If you can't pull up the video to listen, then please just read the lyrics at the bottom. There is a war going on against families today and my prayer is that we cling so closely to the cross that we can withstand whatever the world throws at us! And most importantly that God will be glorified through it all!

I can see it so vividly
In a memory-the simplicity
Of the strength of a father, prayers of a mother
And the trust of a child

Just a virtuous family
Such a place of hope, such a place of peace
And whatever the matter we all stayed together
Through the toughest of times

‘Cause love
was the common bond for all
Looking back I still recall….

CHORUS
It was all so amazing
Every laugh, every tear
Every moment we shared
It was all so amazing
Through your faith, I have come
To believe in a prayer
The hands of time may
Take me down a million roads
Still my heart always carries me
back to the place
The home
built on amazing grace

We must not let the years erase
This inheritance of amazing grace
But through every tomorrow
Our children must follow
In this passage of faith
So that love will forevermore remain
As the light that guides ourway…

REPEAT CHORUS

Amazing grace
how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see
